LCHF Tasty Drink

Image
About a month ago I changed my diet to LCHF (low carb high fat). I have always had a lower carb diet but now I just add more healthy animal fats to it.  I love the results so far and I have been working on new ideas for quick treats to get me the extra fat that my diet requires without adding any carbs. This treat helps satisfy my hunger between meals and before bed and it tastes like a desert!  All you need:  1 tea bag (any flavor will do)  8 oz or so of filtered water organic heavy whipping cream (however much you feel like adding)  Start out by brewing your tea, when I am just making one cup of tea I just microwave a cup of water for 1 minute, then let the tea steep about 3 minutes.  Fill the remainder of the cup up with ice and stir in the heavy whipping cream. Sometimes if I am really craving something sweet,  I'll add a little Truvia sweetener. I switch it up with hot tea and iced tea, it tastes great either way you do it. Now my usual drink a

Climbmax

I am always looking for something new to try. So while discussing ideas with a friend, she told me about Climbmax a gym solely for rock-climbing. I have climbed once or twice before at my gym, but this place sounded a lot more intense, so I was in! At Climbmax you and your partner are the ones doing the belaying as one climbs. You have a test wall to make sure you understand what you are doing, then you are set loose to climb all over the place. Each wall is marked with a ranking so you can see how difficult each wall is. The practice wall starts at 5.5 which is the easiest rating. The highest difficulty level we ventured to was 5.11, and it was a challenge that is for sure.  Taking photos of us climbing was not easy to do, I didn't want my belayer with a camera in hand as I'm 20 feet high in the air, just in case I slipped I'd rather his hand on the rope;)  So I had to ask for nearby climbers to assist with the

Vintage 95

Downtown Chandler, Arizona is a great area to go for food, drinks, watch sports and chill with friends and family. This area is filled with great bars and pubs but one of my favorites is Vintage 95 a wine lounge on the edge of Boston Street. It has a patio on the sidewalk so you can enjoy a glass of wine while people watching on the streets and a patio in the back complete with a fireplace, mood lighting, comfy couch seating (or table if preferred). Also, it has misters a big plus especially if you live in Arizona and still want to venture outside once in awhile. The only downfall with the misters is you can't take a good photo because you have water droplets everywhere, as you will see on the last image below. Another great feature is their live music Thursday, Saturday and Sunday featuring local artists. Definitely a spot to check out!       I was overly annoyed with the way my photos were turning out, so I did not get any good photos of the food we ate. But I wil

Meatza

Low Carb High Fat - Meatza This is a great tasting pizza alternative for people on a low carb - high fat diet. It tastes amazing and is super easy to make. I adapted this recipe after looking through a few different ones on different blogs and recipe sites. I like simple and quick because I don't always have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen and usually when I'm hungry I want food ASAP, so the quicker the better. You will need: sweet italian pork sausage about 1 pound fresh grated parmesan cheese 1/2 cup 1 large egg Italian spice blend  pizza sauce (without high fructose corn syrup and low carb) grated organic sharp cheddar cheese (or cheese topping of choice) green peppers black olives onion mushroom (and any other topping you choose to add)  Crust: Preheat the oven to 375° F Mix the Italian sausage, egg and parmesan cheese together in a bowl, then spread thinly and evenly on a 13x9 cookie sheet or baking dish with edges to hold t
